Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC) contains more lactose than Whey Protein Isolate (WPI), so tolerance depends on the individual. Many people with mild lactose sensitivity can handle WPC, but if you’re highly lactose intolerant, a WPI or plant-based protein may be a better choice.
Whey protein is a high-quality protein sourced from milk during the cheesemaking process. It’s a complete protein, meaning it contains all 9 essential amino acids, making it popular for supporting daily protein intake, training, and recovery.
In the simplest possible explanation the only difference between the two is the level of lactose and fats. This means that WPC is not suitable for people that are lactose intolerant. Both products are manufactured from cheese whey via a chemical and heat free micro filtration process. There is one key difference; WPI has one extra level of filtration that removes most of the carbohydrates (lactose) and fats. Whey Protein Isolate goes through one more filtration compared to Whey Protein Concentrate. This extra step removes almost all of the remaining lactose and fats. Because of this extra filtration most people can tolerant the tiny amount of lactose in WPI. We strongly recommend that if you are lactose intolerant you choose WPI over WPC.
Whey Protein Concentrate is a creamy, great-tasting whey protein powder that typically contains high protein along with small amounts of naturally occurring carbs and fats. It’s a versatile everyday option for shakes, smoothies, oats, and baking.
Store your WPC in a cool, dry place, away from heat and humidity, and seal the pouch tightly after each use. Refrigeration is only recommended if room temperature regularly exceeds 27°C.
Bare Blends WPC has a 24-month shelf life from the date of manufacture. The best before date is printed on the pouch, and we keep batches small to help maintain freshness.
Our standard recommended serve is 30g (around 3 heaped tablespoons), unless otherwise stated on the label. Adjust serving size based on your daily protein goals and diet.
Protein per serve varies slightly by flavour, but WPC is designed to deliver a high-protein serve. For exact macros, refer to the nutrition panel on the product you’re viewing.
WPC is a complete protein and naturally contains essential amino acids including BCAAs (leucine, isoleucine, valine). If you’d like specifics, check the amino acid panel (where provided) or contact us for product details.
Whey protein is a food-based protein source and can be a convenient way to increase protein intake. Because pregnancy and breastfeeding needs are highly individual, we recommend checking with your healthcare professional—especially if you have allergies or specific nutrition targets.
While not certified organic, our whey has all the advantages of 100% natural pastures. The milk for our whey proteins is derived from cows that are grass-fed and graze year-round on natural pastures. It is GMO-free, hormone-treatment-free, pesticide-free and undergoes minimal processing.
Whey protein can be used to support protein intake for active kids or fussy eaters, but needs vary by age and diet. For children, it’s best to start with smaller serves and check with a healthcare professional if you’re unsure.
Not at all—whey protein is simply a convenient way to add more protein to your diet. It can help busy people, anyone trying to eat better, and those wanting support with satiety, recovery, or daily protein targets.
Our WPC is sourced from high-quality Australian dairy, produced under strict standards and designed to deliver a clean taste and creamy texture.
No—our Australian-sourced whey is produced without the use of artificial growth hormones such as rBST/rBGH.
A higher-protein diet can help you feel fuller for longer, which may support appetite control and healthy weight management. WPC is a convenient way to increase protein intake as part of a balanced diet and lifestyle.
Whey protein provides essential amino acids (including leucine) that support muscle repair and growth when paired with resistance training. It’s a simple way to help meet daily protein targets for strength and body composition goals.
